Her early fascination with all things silk, velvet and scented could be described as over-excited reckless abandon.
Arabella, the Pug, embarked on her career as an interior designer at an early age. In fact, she was only 10 weeks old when she started pulling material swatches off the shelves in the design studio. Her early fascination with all things silk, velvet and scented could be described as over-excited reckless abandon. Her style was eclectic, comprising of frayed edges, colours that clashed more than harmonised, not to mention the odd chewed chair leg.
However, perhaps her colleagues were too dismissive of what would begin to reveal itself as raw, natural talent. Her first official coming out to the public and interiors industry (aged 3.5 months) was during Design Week at Chelsea Harbour. She held court at her pop-up boutique and was frightfully keen to greet all passers-by at the entrance, as can be seen in the below image. If you look carefully you will note this was not just any greeting but one executed from a sample of a bespoke, rare coloured silk and wool Rachel Bates Peacock Rug, manufactured by Tai-ping. This little lady only does luxury!
In the following photograph (aged 4 months), she can be seen proudly displaying her drawing room, while sat on her bag carriers knee. The regal nature of her pose clearly stems from centuries long lineage of when her relatives were entertained by Chinese royalty and aristocrats.
It would be fair to say that Arabella's skill is more practical, hands-on and less focused on CAD (Computer aided design). That said, she will give anything a go and the following photograph shows her (aged 5 months) at her desk trying to get the best out of her Apple Mac.
Arabella works tirelessly on behalf of her clients, reaching out to suppliers globally to find the highest quality and most suitable products for her discerning clientele. One thing she knows above all else is that what the client wants, the client gets. Deadline's must be met and if that means pulling all-nighters so be it. The ceaseless search for perfection can be exhausting as well as frustrating. As the following photograph demonstrates, sometimes it all catches up with you and you just need to take a break.
Next, aged 6 months, she threw herself into the complete redesign of the studio. It is a mystery to us that she insists on licking most of the samples but perhaps this is one of the secrets of her success.
She is currently (aged 7 months) engaged on a project in San Lorenzo on the Algarve in Portugal. She has to supervise from a wet and cold Head Office in England as she does not travel well through airports. Just as well as she is busy planning her return to Chelsea Harbour for SuperyachtDESIGN week.
