On the first Tuesday of every month, Christie's keep their doors open late. Anyone can drop in to Christie’s South Kensington between 6pm and 8:30pm for a post-work drink, to hear experts talk about art, interior design and collecting, and to see what happens behind the scenes at 85 Old Brompton Road. Whether you’re an auction regular or just curious about art and collecting, you’re invited to explore Christie’s Lates.
Rachel has been invited to give the main talk on Tuesday 7th February at this wonderful Christie's event and has invited special guest, Fabrice Bana, A-Gent of Style, to join her.
Artel specializes in handcrafted Bohemian crystal glassware. Since founding Artel in 1998, American designer Karen Feldman has built a globally recognised brand, opened three retail stores, and authored an award-winning Prague travel guidebook. In this blog post, we guide you through the glass making processes.
In addition to our retail showroom which is open Monday to Friday, 10am - 5pm, showcasing a multitude of products for the home and retailing everything from the sale of a sample pot of paint, to a meter of fabric to a set of crystal champagne glasses, we also run an interior design consultancy for those who wish to benefit from our interior design services.
Tuesday 30th June – I arrive at St Pancras train station with Jonny, the RBI Filmographer, Andy, the RBI Film Director & Web Designer and Nicola, the RBI Director of Brand Identity & Styling (@RBINicky). Nicola has just arrived in London to join us for our Eurostar Journey to Paris. We are to film with the wonderful Marie Daage. Marie has produced the ‘Rachel Bates’ own label ‘Peacock & Blossom’ collection for our November launch and has kindly granted us exclusivity on her own ‘Saint Hubert’ collection. This is the first of our edits of what we love from her. In truth it’s hard not to love everything from Marie’s exquisite portfolio.
It’s 7am on Monday 29th June and I have just awoken from a very comfy nights sleep at The Capital, on Basil Street, Knightsbridge. I love this hotel, it’s cosy, elegant and a wonderful oasis nestling discretely amid the hub-a-bub of a very busy Knightsbridge.
As I take breakfast in my room I ponder about the day ahead and try to decide which outfit would be most appropriate to wear that afternoon for filming with the fabulous Linda Pilkington of Ormonde Jayne.
Rachel Bates is one of the UK’s most well respected interior designers. Having founded Rachel Bates Interiors in 2012 she has carved out an exceptional career in three short years, developing an outstanding reputation and spearheading a number of notable design collaborations along the way.
